Pimlico: a private tour

What's not to love about Pimlico? With its picturesque terraces and architectural designs, it’s no wonder this Georgian village is often referred as "the garden village." The stillness and beauty found here cannot be matched anywhere else in town.

The Georgian architecture of Pimlico is one the many things that make it such an iconic part London. Thomas Cubitt, master builder for this district created his own style with detailed stonework and perfectly manicured lawns framing impressive windows filled with light.

On this private tour you will explore how Pimlico has been shaped by some important and influential planning, housing and design ideas in the 18th to 21st centuries. Pimlico has some surprising architectural designs which are unique to the area and certainly worth seeing.

It is hard to think of a better place in London than this; an area where people can escape from the hustle and bustles without being too far away.

The diversity of this area is truly unprecedented, with residents ranging from artists to politicians. With so much going on in the city and yet still plenty space for nature you’ll never be bored!

The terraces and squares of Cubitt's London are iconic in the UK for their contribution to housing, but what about other significant architects? You will be introduced not only with issues over time such as architecture or even design that was pushed the government to make radical changes.

Hear about a campaign which post-war writer and architectural critic and local resident Iain Nairn fought in order to preserve the area.

Your private tour ends at Tachbrook Street market, a short walk to Victoria station, the perfect place to get your foodie fix. Open all week until 6pm.There are a wide variety of multicultural food stalls to choose from including Japanese, Turkish, Jordanian, South American-style and more besides.
