Boat types are decided on the day depending on participant age and group sizes
Guided/Hire
On our unguided hire trips, there is no instructor present, participants should be able to paddle at a suitable level so that they can look after themselves. Should a participant not be able to paddle independently they may be asked to hand back the equipment with no refund. Please note we do offer instructor lead sessions if you require instruction.
Music systems/Alchohol
Loud music and alcohol are not permitted on our kayaks. If you are found to be drinking on the water or playing loud music a member of staff is permitted to cancel your trip with no refund. This is to respect the local area, environment, and your safety. Thank you for understanding. We ask that if you are to have an alcoholic drink at the riverside pubs you keep it to a 2 drink limit. If you are found to be drinking excess of this then your trip will be canceled. This is for your and other's safety on the water.
Clothing & What To Bring:
Please bring with you spare clothing (top, trousers, shoes, towel), as you are kayaking and you will get wet. Dry bag, swimwear tops/bottoms, towel, clothing you do not mind getting wet, especially shoes. There are no changing facilities so please come ready.
What Will Happen On The Day:
After meeting, filling in paperwork, familiarisation with the boats and gear, going through safety instructions you will head on to the water. You will be given a buoyancy aid & paddle.
Although you don’t need to have kayaked you do need a moderate level of fitness. You will have to go under low bridges, some of which you need to lie down for (if high water). You will carry your kayak a short distance over weirs and locks.
On Route:
On the paddle, you'll paddle through plenty of countrysides and will find a couple of lovely riverside pubs to stop off at for some food and drink.
